Company History

1992 - Development of the Vision Restoration Therapy (VRT)
The development of a vision therapy called Vision Restoration Therapy (VRT) began in 1992 at the Institute for Medical Psychology at the Otto-von-Guericke-University (IMP) in Magdeburg Germany - under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Sabel and Dr. Erich Kasten (private lecturer). It is based on neuropsychological research and helps patients who suffer field vision loss as a result of stroke, severe head injury or brain tumor.

1998 - 2000 Establishment of NovaVision in Magdeburg, Germany
After many years of research and development the therapy was market ready in 1998 and led to the establishment NovaVision in Magdeburg in August 2000. The aim is to make the medical innovations of the institute accessible to people who have vision impairments as a result of neurological damage. The core business of NovaVision is the treatment and care of patients with neurological vision impairments.

2000 - EU-Technology Prize
In October 2000 the European Union awarded our computerised Vision Therapy VRT the International Technology Prize for Best Innovation.

2003 - Establishment of NovaVision Inc and FDA-authorisation
In 2003 we received the authorisation of our therapy for the American market from the Food and Drug Administration. This success was the basis for the beginning of NovaVision Inc in Florida, our corporate headquarter.
