NovaVision Vision Restoration Therapy (VRT) can
be carried out at home and does not include surgery or
medications.
The first phase of the therapy
generally takes about six months. During this time you
will practice at home on your own computer several times
a day, totalling one hour, adapted to your daily routine.
You will need a computer, a 17 inch monitor and a chinrest,
which you will receive along with the VRT software.
If you do not have a computer, please contact us. Even
if you have had little or no computer experience it will
not be a problem. In order to perform VRT sessions only a few keys are utilised.
What to do during the therapy
You will sit in front of the computer monitor and comfortably
rest your head in a chinrest. While your gaze stays unmoved
on a fixation point light stimuli will appear in designated
areas of the computer monitor. You will recognise these
and confirm this by pressing a key. The light stimuli
positions are chosen by us so that they appear predominantly
in the area with a high improvement potential - zones
of residual vision. Patients need neither surgery nor
medication.
